Do you ever feel regret or even shame about your past? Things you’ve said or done, or even previous versions of yourself?
I know we’ve all heard “no regrets,” but have any of us actually lived life that way? Or is that advice more of a north star… or something to aspire to?
A study from 2011 found that 90% of people have deep regrets about their lives, the most common being education, followed by career, romance, parenting, self, leisure, finance and family. In that order.
But the truth is, regardless of what it’s about, regret is regret. It’s about making choices that are ultimately in line with our values and the kind of person we want to be.
So today we’re learning how to embrace our mistakes and our complexities with a little more grace.
Our guest is Cheryl Strayed. She is the author of the number one New York Times bestseller “Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail,” which has sold more than 4 million copies worldwide and was made into an Oscar-nominated major motion picture starring Reese Witherspoon. Her other bestselling book “Tiny Beautiful Things” is currently being adapted for a Hulu television show that will be released this week.
We cover so much in this episode and it’s actually one of my favorite Mind Love interviews ever.
We Will Learn
