“Happiness is reconnecting with old friends.” – anonymous
Today, I invite you to reconnect with someone you haven’t spoken to or spent time with in a while. Reconnecting with old friends can not only bring back feelings of nostalgia for simpler times, but it can also highlight how much you’ve grown as a person. It’s almost like reconnecting with forgotten parts of yourself.
The key to this exercise is to let go of expectations. It’s not about picking up where you left off, but rather simply reconnecting and reigniting the energy between you.
Take the time to reach out to an old friend, whether it be through a phone call, social media or even a handwritten letter. Before you do, spend some time journaling about your favorite memories with them. Reflect on the energy that used to flow between you and bring those moments to life again. This not only pumps you up to reach out, but it also helps to break the ice and get back into a comfortable and familiar energy.
Remember: let go of expectations and just focus on reconnecting and reigniting your social connections. The goal is to get your social energy flowing, and to reconnect with someone you haven’t seen in a while.
