Clarity Rituals + Yearly Goal Guide Workbook

Ready to have your best year ever?

If you listen to Mind Love you might know, I adore rituals. Not only are they repeatable and habit-forming, but they somehow seem to access the collective energy of those who have dedicated a moment in time to the same ritual.

As we cleanse ourselves for inner spring cleaning, I want to share an amazing Goal Setting Ritual you can use to ignite your fire as you plan the year ahead.

Before you begin, take a moment to clear your mind and open up your energy field.

We often get so focused on the doing, we forget to just be. When our minds are in a constant cycle, we allow no room to receive guidance from our intuition and universal wisdom.

Allow yourself to sit in stillness for at least 10 minutes. Release each thought as it comes, cherishing each brief moment of stillness.

Focus your mind on your energetic field outside your body and feel gratitude and excitement for the year ahead.

Now… let’s begin.

You can print the booklet to assist in these steps, or use your favorite journal! ✍️

1. Define your top 3 goals

What do desire for this year? One of the biggest mistakes people make when setting resolutions is overwhelming themselves from the start.

Here’s my framework for goal setting:

First I pick a word to represent the upcoming year. Words I have chosen over the years have been expansion, being, acceptance and intentional.

Next I pick three goals, each with my word for the year in mind.

  • One transformational goal – this goal is dedicated to my own personal self-growth. I consider it to be the most important because with all goals, it’s not the completion of the goal that changes you, but who you become in the process. (Congratulations! You’ve already got this one covered because you signed up for this 30 Day Mindset Transformation course!)
  • One measurable goal – whether reducing debt, drinking more water, or doubling your income, this goal should be clearly measurable. Pro-tip: Even though this is numbers based, focus on the feeling you’ll get from accomplishing this.
  • One stretch goal – this goal should be just at the brink of what you believe to be possible. If you make it even 60% of the way by the end of the year, consider it a success. The purpose of this is to push your limits and expand your mind to think bigger.

2. Get clear on your mindset blocks

According to psychologist and mindset coach Amanda Cowell, there are three mindsets we need to accomplish our goals:

  • The belief that hard work can and will lead to improvement
  • Confidence that you, and people like you, belong in school and that it is a place where you can thrive
  • The belief that what you are doing is valuable and relevant to your goals

The good news is, identifying your mindset blocks does most of the work of breaking through it. Once you’ve identified which one is holding you back, changing your mindset is as easy as these 3 steps:

  • Prove to yourself it’s possible by making the tiniest bit of progress
  • Finding “people like you” who are moving toward similar goals
  • Making the connection that the steps you’re taking are valuable and relevant to your vision for yourself

Pssst… we get into all the deets in tomorrow episode 059 so stay tuned!

3. Open up to receive guidance

4. Review, Reflect, Renew

Writing with your hand to paper is a powerful way to access your inner guidance. One of the best ways I’ve found to begin to develop a relationship with my own inner wisdom is to get in the habit of reviewing, reflecting and renewing.

Review the last year: What were your biggest wins last year? What progress did you make?

Reflect: What changes did you notice in yourself? What will you do better next year?

Renew: What will you let go of from 2018? What will you bring into the new year in 2019?

5. Write a letter from your future self of one year from now

Close your eyes. Reflect on the year that’s past. What do you want to tell your today self? Where have you been? What have you done? What advice do you have? Tell yourself to release your worries because everything works out okay… and has been even better than you’ve imagined.

Anything is possible here. Refer to your own intuitive wisdom and guidance. Let your future self be your spirit guide.

6. Take one tiny step

Have you heard of Mel Robbins’ 5 Second Rule? She says if you have an impulse and you don’t marry that impulse with an action within 5 seconds, you completely kill the impulse. (She was also on the podcast: Listen to episode 212 here)

First actions can feel hard to take, but the exciting thing is that action builds momentum.

I recommend taking one tiny action for each of your three goals first thing on January 1st. Not only will you make it more likely that you’ll keep making progress, you’ll also start the year with a feeling of accomplishment.

Congratulations on being intentional AF this year! I’m so excited to be on this journey with you and I can’t wait until next week!

Sending you all, my tribe, all the love… ever.

Melissa
