How often do you pause to observe what’s going on around you? Not just how it relates to you but really observing the world around you, taking yourself out of the equation?
So many of us get wrapped up in our own little worlds and perspectives and to-do lists and fears and motivations that we forget to take in what’s going on around us.
And if we are taking in the world around us, we’re often judging and categorizing our observations without even noticing that we’re doing it. “That’s good, that’s bad,” “I like that, I don’t like that,” “I want that, I don’t want that…”
How often do you really make unbiased observations? So often in the world of mindfulness, we talk about going inward. But what if non-judgmental observation is the key to connecting more deeply with yourself and with others?
Today, we’re talking about how our attention and perception play a crucial role in our everyday lives.
Our guest is Christian Madsbjerg.
Christian is an entrepreneur and educator who has dedicated his career to the study of human observation. He is the co-founder of the global consulting firm Red Associates where he served as an advisor to executive teams in some of the world’s largest companies, addressing strategy questions through empirical, organized observations of the human world. Christian’s passion for understanding humanity has taken him on an incredible journey filled with business ventures and educational endeavors. By combining his insights and experiences, he has become a respected figure in the field. He is the author of several books, including “Look: How to Pay Attention in a Distracted World.”
