429: Why You Keep Buying Healing Tools You Don’t Need with Kara Goodwin

By November 25, 2025No Comments

Why do we spend thousands of dollars on healing modalities when the most powerful tool we have is free and already inside us?

I’ve been that person. The one collecting certifications and techniques like they’re going to unlock some secret level of consciousness. I’ve paid for energy healings, bought the crystals, traveled to the retreats. And I’m not saying those things don’t have value. Some of them genuinely changed my life. But somewhere along the way, I realized I was outsourcing my power. I was looking for someone else to tell me I was doing it right instead of trusting what I already knew. That’s the trap so many of us fall into. We think spirituality is supposed to be complicated. That if we’re not studying ancient texts or learning complex breathwork patterns, we’re not serious enough. We’re not evolved enough.

But what if the whole point is to come back to simple? What if all the tools and teachers and techniques are just different roads leading us back to the same truth? Everything we’re looking for is already here. In our breath. In our awareness. In the intelligence of our own bodies.

“The simple truth is everything that we’re looking for is inside us,” Kara shares. “And it really is that simple. There are techniques, there are teachers, there are ways for us to connect deeper with that truth. But what I have experienced is that as I go in this spiral of evolution, it always comes back to me. It always comes back to really getting in touch and reading myself and doing that through my senses.”

Ancient wisdom and modern science finally agree on this. Vedic traditions have talked about prana, the life force energy that animates everything, for thousands of years. They understood that consciousness and matter aren’t separate. That when you direct your awareness, you’re literally moving energy through your body. And now we have research from places like the HeartMath Institute proving it. Your heart generates an electromagnetic field. It has its own neural network. Heart-brain coherence affects your ability to heal and manifest and connect with your intuition. Your body is the most advanced technology you’ll ever have access to. The question is whether you’re paying attention to it.

Most of us aren’t. We’re so busy chasing the next healing modality or spiritual experience that we miss what’s happening right now. We think we need more. More training. More tools. More proof that we’re on the right path. But the initiation isn’t about accumulating more. It’s about stripping away everything that’s keeping you from trusting yourself. It’s about realizing you don’t need permission from anyone to access what’s already yours.

And when you finally get that? When you stop waiting for someone else to unlock you and you start working with the wisdom your body already holds? That’s when things start to shift. Not because you found the right technique. But because you remembered who you are.

Today our guest is Kara Goodwin, host of the Soul Elevation Podcast and meditation teacher who helps people reconnect with their inner wisdom. She’s spent years studying energy healing and consciousness, and her message is refreshingly simple.

In this episode, you’ll discover:

  • Why everything you need for healing is already inside you
  • How heart intelligence differs from mental understanding and why it matters
  • The two-minute breathwork practice that brings you back to center
